A triplicate prescription is for medication that is more closely monitored than your average prescription by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Department of Public Safety. It includes the stimulant medications for ADHD. (i.e. Ritalin, Concerta, Focalin XR, Vyvanse, Adderall, etc...) Stricter guidelines exist for this class of medicine:

- Triplicates cannot be called into the pharmacy - the prescription must be delivered to the pharmacist in person
- You have 21 days to fill the prescription or it will become void
- You may not photograph or copy the prescription (it will void)
- Refills are not allowed to be given on the prescription
